Photographs of Japan will be displayed
An exhibition of photographs entitled “Metamorphosis of Japan after the War: 1945-1964” will be on show in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang from October 17 to December 22. It will feature 123 black-and-white works by 11 renowned Japanese photographers offering a review of the creative and energetic Japanese society during the turbulent period after World War II from 1945 to 1964. The event is organized by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in co-ordination with the Consulate General of Japan in Vietnam. The exhibition will begin at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum on 92 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1 from October 17-29 then travel to the Ngo Quyen Exhibition Hall on 16 Ngo Quyen Street in Hanoi between November 20-29, and finally end up at the Danang Heritage Management Centre on 78 Le Duan Street from December 13-22.

'Land and people' in Doan Xuan Tang’s paintings

Painter Doan Xuan Tang was born in 1977 in Nam Dinh. He graduated from the Painting Faculty of the Hanoi University of Fine Arts (now the Vietnam University of Fine Arts) in 2001. In 2009, Doan Xuan Tang organized the first solo exhibition, called “Different Brocade” at the Thang Long Dragon gallery. The festival of oxen and mud
VietNamNet Bridge - On the muddy track, pairs of cow still competed fiercely. Despite the mud splashing all over, tens of thousands of people watched to the end the competition of 64 pairs of cows at the Bay Nui ox racing festival in the southern province of An Giang on October 14. The 21st Bay Nui cow racing festival took place at the cow tracks of the Ta Miet temple, Luong Phi commune on October 10. This year, there were 64 excellent pairs of oxen selected from the districts of Tri Ton, Tinh Bien, Chau Thanh, Chau Phu and Thoai Son of An Giang and the districts of Hon Dat and Kien Luong of Kien Giang province to compete in the race.
