(CPV) - "Restoring and preserving a collection of red-lacquered and gold-trimmed wooden devotional objects" project that includes 15 objects dating from the 17th to the 19th century has successfully ended.
Experts at the Preservation Department under the Vietnam National Museum of History completed the restoration work, unveiled on November 19, by US. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms Claire Pierangelo, and Thai Binh provincial Museum Director, Mr Vu Duc Thom, in a ceremony held at the museum.
Collected by the Thai Binh provincial Museum from mainly in communal houses, pagodas, temples and shrines, these objects have significant historical, cultural, and religious value, reflecting the cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese people in the key Red River Delta provinces.
This project, funded with a USD30,000 grant by the US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, was awarded in December last year by Ambassador David Shear.
Established in 2001, the Fund has supported 650 projects worldwide, totaling more than USD29 million in which Vietnam has been awarded ten./.
