Wonderful Vietnam moments on Russian news
|
A selection of photos on the simple beauty of the S shaped land, taken by Vietnamese photographers, has been introduced on the Russian online news site Livejournal.
The photos, included in a series of articles themed “Beautiful moments from all over the world”, presented readers Vietnam’s wonderful landscape by photographer Hoang Nam. The photos were taken in many regions around Vietnam such as Lang Co, An Giang, Lam Dong, Nha Trang, Bac Lieu and Dalat.
The photos attracted special attention from numerous Russian readers and some of them expressed their wish to visit Vietnam sometime.

Poland helps train conservation personnel
|
A course on relic conservation techniques got underway in the former imperial city of Hue on Sept. 11 under the guidance of Polish experts.
This is part of a cooperation programme on cultural heritage preservation in Hue, sponsored by the Polish Embassy in Vietnam.
During the course, lasting until Oct. 3, 30 local conservation workers from Thua Thien-Hue, Hanoi and Quang Nam province are trained in how to preserve cultural heritage sites in general, stone and iron relics and cloth and paper artifacts.
Trainees will also learn how to use modern equipment for conservation during the course.
According to Director of Hue Relic Conservation Centre Phan Thanh Hai, Poland is one of the countries famous for its advanced technology in relic conservation and restoration.
Polish experts have taken part in many important projects in Egypt and Latin America.
Poland has so far helped Hue city restore many relic sites, including The To Temple and Tinh Gate of the Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), which was built in 1808./.

Fourth international conference on Vietnamese studies
|
The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will coordinate with Vietnam National University, Hanoi to organize and preside over the fourth International Conference on Vietnamese Studies (ICVNS2012) in Hanoi from November 26 to 28.
The information was released at a press briefing on the conference in Hanoi on September 11th.
Under the theme “Vietnam on the Road to Integration and Sustainable Development”, the event is expected to draw the participation of 800 representatives from diplomatic corps, international organisations and foreign embassies in Vietnam.
The conference will be a forum for scholars of Vietnamese studies all over the world to present their research findings and conduct academic exchanges with their colleagues.
It will also offer a great opportunity for Vietnamese and international researchers of Vietnamese studies to meet and discuss measures to strengthen research collaboration among scholars inside and outside of Vietnam./.
