New novel by Haruki Murakami released in Vietnam
A new novel titled “1Q84” by Haruki Murakami, the author of “Norwegian Wood”, was presented in Vietnam by Nha Nam Publishing and Communication Joint Stock Company on September 11, 2012. “1Q84” is a surreal romance novel nearly 1,000 pages long by Haruki Murakami, first published in three volumes in Japan in 2009 and 2010. The novel quickly became a sensation, with its first printing selling out the day it was released, and reaching sales of 1.5 million copies in its first month. Murakami, the author of “Norwegian Wood”, is clearly one of the most popular and admired novelists in the world today. “Murakami is like a magician who explains what he’s doing as he performs the trick and still makes you believe he has supernatural powers. But while anyone can tell a story that resembles a dream, it's the rare artist like this one who can make us feel that we are dreaming it ourselves.” - The New York Times Book Review. A love story, a mystery, a fantasy, a novel of self-discovery, “1Q84” is Haruki Murakami’s most ambitious undertaking yet; an instant best-seller in his native Japan and a tremendous feat of imagination from one of our most revered contemporary writers./.
