Preparaion for 2nd European Language Day in Hanoi

(CPV) – The “2nd European Language Day” will be organised by the EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) in Hanoi on October 27.
Members of the EUNIC, including the British Council, the Embassy of Hungary, Goethe-Institut, Instituto Cervantes, the Embassy of Spain, the Embassy of Italy and Wallonia-Brussels Delegation, will introduce at Goethe-Institut the diversity of their national languages, promote multilingualism and address the benefits of early foreign language learning.
The “European Language Day” is divided into two parts: In the morning, a conference titled “Early Foreign Language Learning – Chances and Challenges in Vietnam” will address the challenges and chances in the context of early foreign languages learning.
This is a topic which gained importance in the last years. Many parents want their children to learn a foreign language at a young age, which arguably raises language acquisition ability and intelligence of children.
At the second half of the European Language Day, the representatives of the participating institutions will present their respective languages and countries.
Short language courses and activities in Spanish, German, English, Hungarian and French are targeting anyone who is up for getting in touch with a new culture and would like to learn some basic foreign language skills.
Everybody interested in language and culture is more than welcome to join one of the languages classes or watch a short film at the exhibition hall./

Hanoi cultural development plan is paid attention
|
Hanoi City People’s Committee has issued a decision approving a plan on city cultural development until 2020 and orientation until 2030.
The plan focuses on building a Hanoi culture worthy of the traditional culture of Thang Long – Hanoi; building new values to be the spiritual foundation for the society; inherit and uphold fine values of Thang Long culture, promote the specific identity diversification of cultural subregion.
The plan aims to build a polite and civilized Hanoi society; preserve, exploit and promote traditional culture associations, selectively acquiring cultural values of the region and the world; build human resources meeting the tasks of cultural activities; comprehensively develop literature and arts of the capital; promote exchanges and cooperation on culture with provinces and cities nationwide and capitals of countries in the world to introduce achievements of culture and arts in Hanoi.
Accordingly, Hanoi will build a system of statues, squares, parks and flower gardens; develop cinemas and theatres; promote state management with the system of dancing halls; develop literature and art activities, mass and professional art performances.
Hanoi City People’s Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to carry out the plan, coordinate with departments, committees, agencies and people’s committees in districts and towns in the city to carry out five-year plans, the annual plan, programmes and projects to implement the plan./.

Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic ties will be marked by an exhibition
|
The Vietnamese Women’s Museum has coordinated with Singapore’s Stamp Museum to open an exhibition in Hanoi on October 18th to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations.
Entitled “Exploit Singapore – Colours of heritage”, the exhibition provides diverse information about Singaporean history and culture, traditional handicrafts, festivals and famous local dishes through interactive displays and images of post stamps.
In addition, the museum also held interesting activities for children and families to experience, such as colouring stamps, making small bungar manggar – a Malaysian traditional decoration, and trying the traditional clothes of Chinese, Malaysian, Indian and Singaporean people.
The exhibition marked a development milestone in the relations between the Vietnamese Women’s Museum and the Singapore Stamp Museum. It also affirmed the new trend of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum actively promoting international cooperation for exhibitions with other museums in the region and in the world.
The exhibition will run until April 30th 2013./.
