100 photos about Vietnamese heritage will be displayed
|
On October 23, in Phan Thiet City, the central province of Binh Thuan, Vietnam Heritage Magazine coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Cultural Heritage Association and Binh Thuan provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to exhibit 100 photos selected from the Vietnam heritage photo awards 2012.
In three months, the organizing board of the Vietnam heritage photo awards 2012 received 2,890 works from 198 photographers, including eight foreigners.
The contest aims to find beautiful photos about nature, the country and people, and share with readers the moments and views of photographers about Vietnamese heritage.
Selected photos will be displayed in seven provinces and cities, including Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Ha Long, Can Tho, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition will run until October 31./.

Betel and areca culture exhibition
|
An exhibition titled “Betel and areca culture of Vietnam” is being held in Hanoi to help visitors better understand this aspect of Vietnam's beautiful traditional culture.
The event is held at No1, Trang Tien street, by the Vietnam National History Museum, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
About 100 typical objects and photos of lime pots, betel boxes and spittoons are on display at the exhibition in order to present the origin of betel chewing practice in Vietnam and to preserve the beauty of this traditional culture.
The highlight of the show is a set of betel leaf and areca nut eating tools of the noble and rich people of the Nguyen Dynasty, made of gold, silver and precious stones, with exquisite designs.
There are also similar tools made of bamboo, ceramic and copper, used by ordinary people.
The exhibition will last until January 2013./.

Vietnam and Bangladesh shares tourism development experience

On October 22nd, Deputy General Director of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Manh Cuong received the 9-member Bangladeshi delegation led by Mr A.K.M Bari, Chairman of Industry Skills Council (ISC). The visit aims at tourism experience exchange between the two sides.
Addressing at the meeting, Mr A.K.M Bari said Bangladesh’s tourism growth is still weak and faces difficulties in attracting international visitors, in spite of the country’s great potential. He thus hoped to receive Viet Nam’s support in developing the sector.
VNAT’s Deputy General Director Nguyen Manh Cuong shared information on administrative management of Viet Nam tourism sector, human resource training, national tourism development strategy, potentials and strengths of Viet Nam tourism, as well as policies on investment and attracting tourists...
In order to boost tourism industry, there need to be the support of the government, the involvement of businesses and communities, development of specific tourist products, competitive prices, ensuring of service quality, focused promotional campaigns. In addition, tourism development strategy should benefits government, businesses and local communities, Cuong stressed.
He also said that there should be agreement between the two governments including annual experts exchanges to further facilitate the mutual tourism cooperation./.
