Vietnamese ao dai listed in top 16 best national dresses
Vietnamese ao dai (traditional long dress) with an embroidered peacock, worn by Miss Sports 2012 Lai Huong Thao, was listed among the 16 best national dresses at the Miss Supranational 2012 pageant being held in Poland. The winner of the the Best National Dress part at the Miss Supranational 2012 pageant will be announced on the final night scheduled for September 14. The traditional Vietnamese ao dai by designer Vo Viet Chung was appreciated when Huong Thao tried it on in Vietnam.

Vietnam hosts Indochina Literary Conference
The annual Indochina Literary Conference and the Mekong River Literary Prize will be conducted from September 10-14 at Furama Resort in the central city of Da Nang, Vietnam. The conference includes 100 writers from countries in the region including Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, along with representatives from Thailand, China, Myanmar, and Vietnam – India Friendship Association participating as observers. The Indochina Literary Conference was initiated by the Vietnam Writer's Association. The first conference marked the launch of the Mekong River Literary Prize, held annually in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, aiming to promote literary cooperation and development, and stimulate innovation between the three countries./.

70 photos about children at war on display in Hanoi
70 photos about the daily lives of Vietnamese children from 1964-1972 when US imperialists bombed in northern region are on display at Exhibition House, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hanoi until September 14th. The photos were provided by Japan’s Nihon Denpa News (NDN), the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Youth Pioneers) Newspaper. Kim Dong Publisher also displays a number of books published during the war, which served as invaluable spiritual sustenance for children at that time. "This is an opportunity for us, who were born during the war, to look back at the north of Vietnam 40 years ago and see how children lived and studied during the cruel war," said Nguyen Duc Loi, general director of the VNA./.
