Vietnamese, French museums hold joint exhibitions

Vietnam’s National History Museum will work alongside the Guimet Museum of Asian art to hold an exhibition on the Vietnamese dragon at the Parisian museum.
An agreement to this effect was signed during a visit to Paris by representatives from the National History Museum from October 24-30.
Both museums discussed issues concerning their joint organisation of exhibitions in 2013 and 2014 to mark the 40 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
The Vietnamese delegation also met with the Director of France’s Army Museum, Lieutenant-General Christian Baptise.
They agreed to hold a joint exhibition on Indochina covering the 1858-1956, from October 2013 to January 2014.
Vietnam’s National History Museum will compile and prepare photographs, documents and various artifacts for the exhibition, while the Army Museum will help collect exhibits, display them and also fund the event.
The Director of Vietnam’s National History Museum , Nguyen Van Cuong, said that joint initiatives between Vietnamese and French museums have often taken place in the past.
Both countries have supported each other in this field with the French government donating 2 million USD to the Cham Museum of Vietnam and assisting the Vietnamese Women’s Museum and is holding an exhibition on the Champa culture at the Guimet Museum in Paris .
Cuong said he is sure that both these exhibitions will be impressive and help forge closer cultural ties between both countries./.

Presiden Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum will open on November 7th
|
According to the management board of President Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, the mausoleum will open again on November 7th, 2012 after closing for periodical maintenance.
The mausoleum welcomes around 5,000-6,000 visitors per day. It is opened all days in the week, except Monday and Friday.
Construction work began on September 2, 1973, and the mausoleum was formally inaugurated on August 29, 1975.

Strengthening cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina

At the reception, the two sides discussed several proposals to expand cultural development cooperation between the two countries in the future, especially activities to mark the 40th anniversary establishing Vietnam – Argentina diplomatic relations in 2013.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that there is a great potential for cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries. A cooperation programme in the 2010-2012 period was signed.
He asked the two sides to sign a cooperation programme for the 2013-2015 period and exchange senior delegations between the two ministries. In 2013, diverse activities such as Vietnamese film week in Argentina and Argentinean film week in Vietnam; art performances and exhibitions to introduce the culture, land and people of the two countries; seminars on cultural development cooperation, especially in the field of museums will be held.
Argentina's Secretary for Culture agreed to proposals for cultural cooperation, including the coordination in holding events to mark 40 years of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2013. He said he will study more about Vietnamese culture, arts and cinema, hence expanding cultural exchange and cooperation programmes./.
