Vietnam wins gold medals at Int’l Circus Festival

On September 20th, the circus manager of the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) circus delegation Mr. Ho Van Thanh said Vietnam has won two Golden Horse prizes at the Almaty – Kazakhstan International Circus Festival.
The “Day thep chung” (slack steel wire) circus act, performed by circus artist Thu Hien and the “Du chong dau” (swinging) act by Hoang Anh and Thu Hiep won the Golden Horse prize (gold medal) at the Almaty – Kazakhstan International Circus Festival.

Earlier, the act “Thang bang tren day thep chung” (slack steel wire) by Thu Hien won two prizes at the Figueres International Circus Festival in Spain, “Du chong dau” (swinging) by Hoang An and Thu Hiep won the silver prize at the Southeast Asian circus festival. And both circus acts participated in the 11th Moscow International Youth Circus Festival in Russia.
Two performances have officially received an invitation to attend the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival to be held from January 2014.

The Almaty – Kazakhstan International Circus Festival took place from September 11 – 16, 2012 and gathered 9 participating countries: France, Germany, the US, Russia, Vietnam, Belarus, Latvia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The festival gathered the most outstanding circus acts, which were honoured at the other international circus festivals./.

(CPV) - The autumn/winter fashion week 2012 of the Italian fashion brand Elise will take place on September 21-26, 2012 in Hanoi.
In the framework of this Elise autumn/winter fashion week 2012, there will be many activities, starting with the opening show which will introduce the first autumn/winter collection of 2012, including traditional office costumes in elegant colours.
An art program will feature the participation of Miss Vietnam 2012 Dang Thu Thao, first runner-up Duong Tu Anh and the second runner-up Hoang Anh.

2012 Craft Village Fair to be held in Nam Dinh
|

The 2012 Craft Village Fair, held by the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, will take place at Hoa Binh Square, Nam Dinh province from September 25-30.
The fair includes 350 stalls from craft villages across the country and aims to boost trade and tourism activities, popularise the image of craft villages and their products, as well as honouring local craftsmen. It will also contribute to preserving and developing national cultural identities.
In the framework of the fair there will be activities such as the display and sale of various craft products, craft making skills demonstrations, a “Traditional craft villages now and in the past” display, a display honouring more than 300 products which entered the final round of the Vietnam Handicraft contest, the conference “Developing craft villages in association with agriculture”, and visits to some craft villages in Nam Dinh province./.
