Special beauty of Ang Village in Northwerstern mountains
|
(TITC) - Located in Moc Chau Plateau (Moc Chau District, Son La Province), Ang Village has fresh and cool air, charming scenery and also preserves special culture treasures of Thai ethnic group.
Scenery in Ang Village
From Moc Chau Farm Town, along to National Highway No.43 about 2km to the south, tourists will arrive to Ang Village. From the height, Ang Village looks like a water-color painting with traditional stilts houses hidden under immense green foliage. Near to the village is natural lake with the area of 5ha surrounding by green pine forests. In the distance, there are verdant tea hills, grass fields; especially in the spring, white flowers of apricots, plums, ban (a typical flower of Northwest region) blooming throughout the forests. All seem to emphasize the beauty of Ang Village more sparkling, charming.
Ang Village is home to Thai ethnic people. They mainly live by planting (tea, vegetable, corn, rice), poultry and cattle husbandry and traditional crafts (brocade weaving, knitting). Although near Moc Chau Farm Town, villagers in Ang Village has kept intactly traditional culture identity as architecture of traditional stilt houses, costume, old folk songs, folk games, specific festivals (Het Cha festival, new rice festival)...
Pine forest in Ang Village
In recent years, for sustainable tourism development associated with conservation and promotion of natural beauty, culture in Moc Chau, Son La Province has invested to exploit eco and community-based tourism type in some ethnic minority villages, of which including Ang Village. With Northwestern natural scenery and unique culture of Thai people, Ang Village has became an attractive destination for many international and domestic tourists, contributed to improving lives of villagers as well as preserving and promoting traditional culture identity. Currently, brocade products (pieu handkerchiefs, com shirts, handbags, curtains, tablecloths…) of villagers with various designs and exquisite patterns are creating gradually own brand.
To Ang Village, tourists will have opportunity to experience the daily life of villagers; discover Northwestern mountains scenery, especially ride horses to visit Ang Village pine forest, enjoy local specialties as can wine, com lam (rice in bamboo tube), pa pinh top (grilled fishes), bacon…
Recently, Moc Chau District has planned Ang Village, the lake and pine forests into a tourist area with the area of 62ha and calling for investment to further develop tourism. In the future, this tourist area will become a must-see destination of tourists on the North West arc road.

Chi Hamlet in Ha Giang province

(TITC) - In the recent years, travel trend to ethnic minority villages has become popular, especially with international tourists and young people. Because of visiting there, tourists will discover unspoiled natural landscape and learn about many traditional culture feature.
Grasping those needs, Quang Binh District (Ha Giang Province) has focused on developing community-based tourism type and encouraging the participation of local people. One of highlights is Chi Hamlet, Xuan Giang Commune, about 14 km from the center of Quang Binh District. With available natural potential and diversified traditional cultural identity of local people, the hamlet is developing gradually thanks to community-based tourism.
Chi Hamlet is home to 4 ethnic groups, of which Tay ethnic people accounted 96% and the rest are Kinh, Nung, Dao people. The villagers still keep intact specific cultural characteristics. Those unique features are expressed from the design of stilt houses which back to mountains and face fields to interior decoration of bed room, altar, kitchen, living room and display of traditional living tools.
Especially, Tay people have traditional brocade weaving craft. Skilled hands of Tay women created unique patterns in cloth, blanket, cushion which tourists choose as souvenirs. And to Chi Hamlet, tourists will take part in weaving brocade with Tay women and choose favorite patterns to embroider by themselves. Besides, tourists also can participate in many traditional games as tung con (throwing a sacred ball), ban no (shooting with crossbows), ca kheo (walking on stilts), day gay (pushing sticks) and many other games.
Apart from stilts houses, dances, festivals and rustic lives of the villagers, Chi Hamlet is also gifted amazing natural sceneries such as Ong But Slope, Lay Quang Lake…To here, tourists can see sunset, admire shimmering beauty of stalactites, or go fishing in stream, walk around Lay Quang Lake…
Community-based tourism type not only benefits for tourism industry, but also for local people. It helps people to increase their income and improve their lives. It also contributes to improving infrastructure as transports, electricity, water, communication network system, health, environmental sanitation…These are reasons to ethnic people in Chi Hamlet have more awareness of traditional culture values preservation for tourism development.

Hanoi autumn in the eyes of Mrs. World 2012

VietNamNet Bridge - "The autumn weather in Hanoi is pleasant. I’m completely overwhelmed. Vietnam is a great destination," Mrs. World 2012 April Lufrice said.
Lufrice said she comes to Vietnam this time to participate in the survey of the Mrs. World Organization. The delegation is expected to visit several locations to prepare for the Mrs. World pageant in Vietnam in the shortest time and to participate in charitable and social activities.
Lufrice is beautiful and young though she has three children. The Mrs. World 2012 expressed regret that her husband and children could not accompany her in this trip.
"I will buy Vietnamese gifts for my husband and children. And of course, I will tell them about my journey to Vietnam. I wish to return to Vietnam in the near future, with my family, also in the fall," Lufrice said.
Lufrice said before coming to Hanoi, she met with HCM City’s officials. "Ho Chi Minh City is beautiful. I saw the city’s beauty, majestic buildings and the hospitality of Vietnamese people that I had previously heard about," she added.
The America beauty queen also visited the Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly and Disabled Children. "I was really thrilled and could not stop crying when I saw unlucky children," Lufrice said.

Tonight, October 12, Lufrice is attending the medal granting ceremony of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh to Dr. Doan Thi Kim Hong and Mr. David Marmel for successfully organizing the Mrs. World 2009 pageant in Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
The Mrs. World delegation and Mrs. World 2012 April Lufrice will go to Danang to survey some sites like Hoi An and Tien Sa before leaving Vietnam.
"I desire to bring the culture of the two countries closer together. I wish the Mrs. World pageant to return to Vietnam as soon as possible," she said.
