VND31 will be spent on One Pillar Pagoda restoration
|
The total investment for the upgrade of the One Pillar Pagoda is more than VND31 billion.
The plan will be carried out in 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
Ba Dinh district People’s Committee has planned to upgrade One Pillar Pagoda and is collecting ideas for implementation.
Accordingly, several items of the pagoda will be restored.
The One Pillar Pagoda has been recently recognised by the Asian Records Organisation as having the most unique architecture on the continent, said the Vietnam Records Organisation./.

Raise funds concert for poor children in Yen Bai
|
The 3rd “Passion Melody” concert, organized by artists Anh Tu and his wife Viet Dung with the support of Anh Tu Violin FC, will take place at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on October 26 to raise funds for poor children in Yen Bai province.
The show will introduce a mix of works from classical music and Vietnam pop – rock. Violinist Anh Tu, a lecturer at the National Music Conservatory, will play ballads with pianist Ngoc Linh, while opera singer Viet Dung will introduce a number of classical, pop and rock pieces.
In August, the 2nd “Passion Melody” concert was held at the French Cultural Centre (L’Espace) in Hanoi to raise funds for disadvantaged children at the Cao Thi commune, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province.
"This is not only a show for charity, but also an art performance where we introduce experimental art," Dung said.
When she was a student of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Viet Dung was awarded scholarships from the Australian, German and Korean governments for excellent study of academic fine arts./.

Raising fund champain for street children by KOTO Bike Ride 2012
|
(CPV) - KOTO Bike Ride 2012, Hanoi’s best bike ride event, with a route from Hanoi to beautiful Dong Mo Lake, will take place on Saturday November 10 to raise funds to support street and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam.
The event is open for anyone who wants to participate and it aims to raise funds for KOTO to cover the rental expense of training centres and housing for 200 trainees for 1 year.
The 50km charity cycle route will head west from Hanoi and take cyclists to the beautiful Dong Mo Lake where riders will complete their route with a 10 minute boat ride.
Upon arrival, everyone will have time to explore leafy forests on the island, enjoy fruit-picking, or take a dip in the fresh water of Dong Mo Lake.
The warm hospitality and continuous cheering of KOTO staff and trainees will accompany cyclists throughout the ride and will spur on even the most tired pedallers.
