Get more information about Visa to Vietnam
|
Vietnam is a popular tourist destination. It attracts people from all over the world and impresses with its nature, wonderful beaches, history and culture. So many people do a lot of research on the internet about the visa requirements to enter Vietnam for both tourist and business travel.
People who wish to visit Vietnam can apply for tourists or business visa. For both of them you are not obligated to prove the actual purpose of your trip. Requirements for both visas are pretty much the same. Sometimes the six months visas are not available, but the one and three-month visas are always offered. There is also a work permit visa which is different form the business visa and you cannot work legally if you obtain only business visa. Keep in mind that if you want to work in Vietnam it will be more complicated to apply for a work visa outside of the country. The best way is to enter the county on a business or tourist visa and then switch to work visa from inside Vietnam. This is all due to too much administrative work in the Embassies or Consulates.
There are some countries which citizens don’t need a visa to stay in Vietnam for a certain period of time. Most of the Asian countries don’t need a visa for less than a month stay. The citizens from Russia, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, South Korea and Finland don’t need a visa for a business or travel stay in the country for less than 15 days. Others are required to have a visa or an approval letter for a visa that will be issued at the time of arrival at a Vietnam International Airport (so called “visa on arrival”). The latter is the best option if you plan to travel to many destinations and include Vietnam as a part of this trip or if there is no Vietnam Consulate or Embassy.
Visa on arrival can be issued for either business or tourist travel, but it’s available only when you enter Vietnam by air. The three Vietnamese international airports that you can get your visa stamp are: NoiBai International Airport, Danang Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport. You must have an approval letter to request a visa stamp at the airport. This letter shows that you are allowed to enter the country by the department of immigration. You can receive such aletter via email (if you apply online) or in person at any travel agency in Vietnam (if you are already in the country and you want to come back). Visa on arrival is the fastest way to get a visa for Vietnam.
A visa to entry Vietnam is issued at Vietnam Consulates and/or Embassies in your country and it takes from 4 to 10 business days depending on your country of origin. Sometimes it is possible to get the visa for less than four days if you have a proof that you need to fly in a day or two. You must have a passport with minimum of 6 months validity, fill in an application form with photos attached and pay a visa fee which ranges from USD $25 to $85. Your application should be sent to Hanoi for further approval.

|
With less than one day to go to World Tourism Day (WTD) on September 27, preparations for the official celebrations in host country Spain are well underway.
In the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias, Maspalomas, one of Spain’s famed seaside towns on the island of Gran Canaria, will host the official celebrations of World Tourism Day 2012 under the theme Tourism & Sustainable Energy, coinciding with the United Nations International Year of Sustainable Energy for All.
In his message on the occasion of WTD, UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, said: “One of the world’s largest economic sectors, tourism is especially well-placed to promote environmental sustainability, green growth and our struggle against climate change through its relationship with energy (…). Sustainable energy will allow tourism to continue to expand while mitigating its impact on the environment.”
Organized by UNWTO and the Government of Spain, and hosted by the Government of the Canary Islands, the Government of Gran Canaria, San Bartolomé de Tirajana Council and the town of Maspalomas, events in Maspalomas include a Think Tank on Tourism and Sustainable Energy at which tourism experts and leaders from the energy, airline and hospitality sectors will debate the use of sustainable energy in the travel and tourism sector.
Further highlights include the official launch of the Spanish version of the online tool Hotel Energy Solutions (HES), a UNWTO-led initiative, helping hotels to cut their energy use, and a Tourism and Sustainable Energy Fair, demonstrating the latest technologies in the field.
Hundreds more events will take place around the world on 27 September, as people celebrate WTD in their own countries. UNWTO invites all to share their events and follow official WTD celebrations online.
