The northern province of Vinh Phuc has planned to welcome 880,000 visitors from now to the end of this year, raising the total to over 1.8 million in 2012.
Vinh Phuc received over 1 million visitors, including 16,050 foreigners, in the first half of this year, realizing 53.6% of the annualized plan.
Meanwhile, its tourism and hotel revenues stood at VND 492 billion, rising 10.6% on-year, and realizing 57% of the plan set for the whole year. The hotel room occupancy rate in the tourist season was 60%.
The province plans to make tourism and hotel revenues of VND 364 billion from now to the year-end.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is strengthening inspection of travel agencies and hotels to boost their service quality.
