Bru – Van Kieu ethnic minority group with its teaching traditional music
|
A training course reinstating and teaching the traditional music of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic minority group at a tourism connection community for young people in Khe Cat village, Truong Son commune, has been reviewed in Quang Binh province.
The event was under the framework of a project on Mekong sub-region sustainable development in the central province of Quang Binh, in coordination with Cat Vang Communication Limited Liability Company.
Truong Son is a disadvantaged mountainous commune in Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. There are 939 households with 3972 people. 549 households with 2407 people are from the Bru – Van Kieu ethnic minority group. The commune has great potential for tourism with beautiful landscapes and a rich community culture with dances, songs and traditional festivals.
A training course on reinstating and teaching the traditional musical instruments of Bru – Van Kieu aimed to reinstate traditional culture and arts, and preserve and promote specific traditional cultural identity of the ethnic minority group.
The training course drew the participation of eight artisans and 20 learners, contributing to building Ke Cat village into a community culture tourism destination, in which the Bru – Van Kieu culture is the foundation and motivation along with local beautiful landscapes./.

Looking forward to Hanoi international film festival
|
The second international film festival will take place in Hanoi from November 25th to 29th. The information was released at a press briefing on the festival held in Hanoi on September 27th.
The festival will draw the participation of nearly 1,000 domestic and foreign delegates. The organising board has received over 200 films from 38 countries and territories for the contest, including 22 Vietnamese feature and short films.
Movie lovers will have the chance to enjoy documentaries from Asia, animation from Japan, feature films from France and the Republic of Korea, as well as others by young directors worldwide.
Two seminars and an exhibition featuring achievements by the Vietnamese film sector during the Renewal process will be also held.
30 Vietnamese feature films about Vietnam’s renewal and those produced from 2010 until 2012 have been chosen for screening during festival to promote the Vietnamese film industry to international friends./.

The Gongs show of XE Dang ethnic minorty
|
The Management Board for the Forestry Development Project to improve people’s lives in the Central Highlands, based in Kon Tum province, presented four sets of gongs to the Xe Dang ethnic minority group in Dak Psi commune, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province.
Each set of gongs is worth of nearly 20 million VND. On behalf of the Xe Dang ethnic minority group, Y Dim, vice chairwoman of Dak Psi commune said that the gongs are a means to affirm the community characteristics and cultural identity of the Central Highlands in general and Xe Dang ethnic minority group in particular. They are closely associated with cultural and spiritual life of local people, from birth to death.
Xe Dang ethnic minority people are glad to receive the gongs and will work to preserve the cultural space of the Central Highlands gongs./.
