Most of the mangroves, wildlife and beaches in Ream National Park have been beautifully maintained and kept pristine, thanks to a dedicated force of 35 rangers. One of seven national parks established in 1993, the park's 200 fishermen have not been evicted but allowed to stay to continue their subsistence fishing. To maintain the ecosystem in balance, no new residents are allowed.
