Located in Si Pan Don area (4,000 islands) where the Mekong river spreads to a width of up to 14 kilometres during the rainy season, forming hundreds of islands and islets. Khong Island or Don Khong is the largest island in the area offering the serene monasteries and one of the most scenic areas in Laos. Attractions include waterfalls - some of the biggest in Southeast Asia, Irrawaddy dolphins and local villages.
