The event aims to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, 35 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Co-operation Treaty, and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012. The camp attracts ten Vietnamese sculptors and five from Laos, who are working on 15 stone statues. The materials of works are mainly stone from Thanh Hoa province. The works will represent the special solidarity and friendship between the two nations in their struggles for national liberation, and to build strong prosperous countries. After being completed, the sculptures will be presented as special gifts to Laos and displayed at the Lao National School of Fine Arts in Vientiane./.
