VietNamNet Bridge – In the morning of July 26, many websites of travel firms still introduced Da Nang beach as China beach. The Ministry of Information and Communications said to shut down these websites.
Da nang beach is introduced as “China Beach”
By the morning of July 26, some companies corrected information about the Da nang beach on their website but many tourism websites like DH Travel (Hanoi), Thang Long Travel (Hanoi), etc. did not correct the wrong name of the Da nang beach.
The head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Nguyen Van Tuan, said the VNAT would asked all provincial departments of culture, sports and tourism, travel firms and hotels in the whole country to use the correct name of Da nang beach.
“It is unacceptable to call Da nang Beach as China Beach because it makes foreign visitors misunderstand about Vietnam’s most beautiful beach,” Tuan said.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Do Quy Doan said on July 26 that the Ministry recommended websites that were naming Da nang beach as China beach to correct the wrong information. If they do not change the name, the Ministry would shut down their websites.
However, Doan showed his worry over the wrong information about Da nang beach posted on foreign websites.
