130 works in ceramic about Vietnamese women are on display at an exhibition which opened on October 10th in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event is being held by the Southern Women Museum in coordination with the Central Highlands Lam Dong provincial museum and the Southern Ceramic Cultural Heritage Association.
The exhibition aims to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese women through historical periods, their contribution to traditional folklore, and the heritage values related to women in Vietnam fine arts. Many works depicting women have become familiar in the lives of Vietnamese people, such as the image of Hai Ba Trung, market in the countryside, going to the pagoda, picking lotus at the pond, growing rice and pounding rice.
The exhibition will run until January 4th 2013./
