Vietnam’s travel agencies are showcasing their products and services at the 34th international tourism fair, IFTM Top Resa 2012, in France from September 18-21.
The event attracts around 6 million visitors annually with 500 stands occupied by businesses from 39 countries around the world.
Taking part are companies in the fields of civil aviation, the arts, construction, jewellery, restaurants, hotels, trade, industry, information technology, sports and entertainment.
Apart from various tourism products, Vietnam’s four stands at the fair promotes attractive destinations across the country.
The country is targeting to welcome 7 million arrivals this year, with over 200,000 coming from France .
Le Trung Dung, who is in charge of tourism at Vietnam’s Cultural Centre in France, said that Vietnam’s presence at the exhibition will promote the country’s tourism industry in France in particular and in the EU in general. As one of Vietnam’s traditional markets, France holds a lot of potential and there is a great deal of demand for the country’s tourist sector to develop, he noted.
Sharing Dung’s views, Vo Anh Tai, Director of the Sai Gon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist), said about a move to tap into the market’s potential, that a range of new products are being introduced at the fair, especially the ‘four countries-one destination’ programme which has attracted the interest of many international visitors.
Le Dung, head of Vietnam Airlines’ representative office in Europe, said he hoped that through the fair, even more French tourists will come and visit Vietnam and Indochina .
Vietnam Airlines will also work with the Vietnamese Embassy to promote the country’s tourism in France, he stated.
