VietNamNet Bridge - Unlike the previous years, many brilliant films in the race to the Oscars Award 2012 will be screened very early at Vietnamese cinemas.

Last year, of the list of 10 films nominated for the Oscar Award 2011’s best film category, Vietnamese audience people could enjoy only two at cinemas - "The Help" and "The Tree of Life" - because they were released in the summer, months before the award ceremony.
A few months after the awards ceremony, the audience had an opportunity to watch a few more films in the list thanks to the Megastar Picks program of the film distributor Megastar, including "The Descendants" and "The Artist".
But this year the situation is slightly different when great films by well-known directors, which are praised by critics as promising nominees for the Oscars Award 2012 are on the way to Vietnam.
The most notable movie is "Django Unchained" by Quentin Tarantino, who is known for "Inglourious Basterds," "Kill Bill", "Pulp Fiction," etc. This movie has the presence of stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Jonah Hill.

Other movies that will be introduced in Vietnam are also strong rivals at the Oscar Award 2012: the blockbuster "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" by Peter Jackson, the start of a series of three films with the total rumored cost of $1 billion; the musical film "Les Miserables" by Tom Hooper and the 3D movie "Life of Pi" by Ang Lee.
The common thing of these films is the mix between art and commercial factors.
The 85th Oscars Award will take place on February 24 and will be televised live on ABC. Comedian Seth MacFarlane will be the host, as announced by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
