In
the first ten months of this year, almost 4.2 million foreign tourists
arrived in Vietnam, up 39% over the same period last year, according
to the General Statistics Office.
In October - the month of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi,
the number of tourists arriving in Vietnam increased sharply with over
440,000, higher by 99.3% over the same period last year.
Tourists from Asian countries also rose rapidly, including China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.
Tourist numbers from ASEAN countries also increased strongly, by 97.2% from Cambodia, over 41% from Thailand and 28.4% from Malaysia.
