Khong gian ao (Virtual space) is opening at HCMC Association of Fine Arts with a large number of painting and sculptural works by 12 artists from many generations for visitors to feast their eyes on.
The show features many themes associated to the social issues of modern life, with visitors witnessing human portraits, scenery, daily life or even the nation’s sovereignty in virtual space.
The computer has become a necessity for all generations, but using a computer to draw paintings and sculpt statues is rather new in Vietnam and all artworks at the show are based on such technology.
“Unlike the traditional technique, digital arts don’t need traditional materials but instead use the computer, mouse and creativity; so elements of sight, materials and graphics in this genre of art are virtual, but the love for art is real. Digital artworks create 3D-effects as if they really exist,” said artist Uyen Huy.
The show runs until Saturday at the association, 218A Pasteur Street in District 3.
