VietNamNet Bridge – Renown Ao dai designer Thuan Viet will introduce Vietnamese ao dai at the Vietnamese Culture Festival in Japan this weekend.
The Vietnamese Culture Festival in Tokyo is co-organized by the Vietnam Festival Council and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, taking place over September 15 and 16.
The program aims to introduce to the land of the rising sun the cultural characteristics of Vietnam. With this theme, designer Thuan Viet will draw attention to the traditional embroidery techniques of Vietnam through three ao dai collections: Vietnamese Lotus, Vietnamese Dragon and Vietnamese Soul.
Thuan Viet said: "My ao dai collections feature Vietnamese characteristics through the image of lotus – the national flower, which shows the simplicity of Vietnamese girls".
The main materials of the three collections are the combination of traditional embroidery with crystal to make ao dai lovely and attractive.
The collections will be performed by six leading Vietnamese models: Duong My Linh, Vo Hoang Yen, Trang Nhung, Thuy Linh, Truc Nguyen, Khanh Phuong and some Japanese models.
The ao dai performance will be held at the Yoyogi Park, Tokyo.
