New cafe destination at Cafe Hang Cac

Last week must have been the worst week during this year’s rainy season and I personally was soaked to the skin twice daily at least and that’s me wearing a VND200,000 covers-the-whole-body raincoat.
No matter how you sell it and try to stay positive during the six-month slog the rainy season is murder.
I was on an errand in District 3 and decided to cancel as the rain was getting me down so I stopped at the closest safe haven in Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Cafe Hang Cac.
I sat down in a dark corner as the heavens let out their fury and drunk a sinh to dau (strawberry shake) and pondered my next move. I re-arranged my appointment after having a look at the menu and saw com tom (shrimp in a sweet and sour sauce with salad and boiled rice). It was delicious and brightened my mood as I ate my food and washed it down with my shake.
I was about to ask for the bill when I rested my head against one of the many large cushions on my table and crashed out for 30 minutes. I woke startled and looked around but nothing was missing and no-one was bothered by the catnap. I asked for the bill and got on with my day.
Now many people talk about cozy cafes but how comfortable does a cafe have to be so that you can literally fall asleep in it, sick with the flu and post-meal.
So if the rain is getting you down folks and you fancy some nice food or drink or even go for a little sleep, head on down to Cafe Hang Cac in Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3
