Phan
Xuan Anh, President of the company said there were around 200
passengers on board each vessel. More than 50 tourists on board France’s
ship took a tour of Danang and around 150 travelers from the American
ship visited Hoi An, Danang and Thua Thien-Hue.
Le Diamant has visited the country for the first time. The cruise ship is taking tourists from the first port in HCMC, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Danang, Hue, and stop in the northern city of Haiphong.
It will stay there for three days to wait for more passengers and
then take them to attractions from the north to the south of the
nation.
SeaBourn Pride started its trip in the middle of last week from Halong Bay in
the northern province of Quang Ninh and has since taken tourists to
Danang and HCMC. It left the city on December 11 for Singapore, and
will come back to the country.
Anh said the two ships were cruising on fixed routes in Vietnam and that he expected them to have regular visits to Vietnam.
Viet Excursions has been busy with monthly visits by cruise ships
this year. The company earlier also arranged Vietnam tours for the
Silver Shadow vessel to HCMC and the Diamond Princess to Nha Trang.
In previous years, it was hard to find cruise passengers from May
through July but this year the company welcomed guests from Australia
and Russia during this period, Anh said, adding prospects for next year
are also bright.
