The “Lang toi” (My village) circus-play by artist Nhat Ly, which was performed at the Hanoi Opera House in 2009, will come back the Hanoi Opera House for a free performance on August 10th 2012.
“Lang toi” circus-play, staged by the Vietnamese Circus Federation and artists from the Federation and some musicians from the Vietnam Theatre, first performed abroad at Quai Branly Museum in Paris from June to July 2009.
Since then, it has been shown in many countries, such as Belgium, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Australia and Singapore and won the hearts of thousands of audiences.
The most interesting aspect of the circus-play is the use of bamboo to design the stage and the impressive story about the Vietnam’s country and people.
The circus-play began from a meeting of three Vietnamese artists, director Tuan Anh, musician Nhat Ly and circus lecturer Nguyen Lan, who have been living and working in Germany and France for many years.
After returning to Vietnam many times to learn about the Vietnamese circus art, the artists teamed up and developed the idea for a new type of circus./.
