Performance of Dance/Hip hop “Same Same”

You are invited to the dance/hip hop performance with the Stylistik Group. The pair French-Laos performers discuss about their relationship and it is both alluring and attractive to us.
The name of the dance is taken from the usual saying “same same” that many sales people in Southeast Asia use to say to customers that their price they have given and the price the customers might want to bargain is almost the same. However there is a small difference, reasonable is also ”Same same”.

TNT music theatre presents an extraordinary production of KING LEAR. This magnificent but unwieldy text is streamlined and sharply focussed to create a unique theatrical event that blends live music, spectacular imagery and thrilling action. Some familiar characters and scenes are cut but the heart of the play is revealed.
The actors themselves play cello, violin, percussion and sing stunning five part harmony. The production has been acclaimed by public and critics alike from Tokyo to Berlin and Malta to the Isle of Jersey. This season sees TNT’s KING LEAR return by popular demand to tour Asia and Britain. KING LEAR is directed by Paul Stebbings, whose multi-award winning productions of Shakespeare have been seen from London to Brisbane, and Atlanta to Shanghai. TNT collaborate with the American Drama Group Europe to create one of the most popular and innovative touring ensembles in the world. This is accessible and popular Shakespeare, as exciting as the original Globe productions of Shakespeare’s day that were aimed at any theatre-goer. KING LEAR is too often seen as profound poem, TNT release the drama and excitement of what just might be the best play ever written. The company are delighted to be returning to Vietnam for the fifth time, a record for any foreign theatre company.

Screening of “The Sacred Turtle of Vietnam”

Come join Friends of Vietnam Heritage and find out why the Hoan Kiem turtle is considered sacred – a good luck charm and a symbol of wisdom.
Legend is that Le Loi returned his magical sword to the Dragon King through Hoan Kiem’s turtle. This is the sword that made Le Loi grow very tall and gave him the strength to drive the Chinese out of Vietnam.
Hoan Kiem’s turtle is one of the last 2 known giant fresh water lake turtles in Viet Nam. These soft shelled fresh water turtles are on the brink of extinction.
You will also get to meet Kim and Rex – two of Cuc Phuong National Parks turtle rangers in action in the film.
We will have some experts on hand to answer your questions and give us the ‘extra’ stories after the film. Mr. Wolfgang Rebernik – Co-director and camera man. 45 minutes – English A documentary by Wolfgang Luck and Wolfgang Rebernik.
