Establishing Council appraising profiles on intangible cultural heritage
|
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has decided to establish a council to appraise profiles on intangible cultural heritages for listings in the national intangible cultural heritage register.
The Council will draw the participation of leading professors and researchers for heritages in Vietnam. Leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be president of the Council which has the function to appraise scientific profiles on intangible cultural heritages of localities for submission to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for possible placement onto the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
Proposed heritages must be approved by at least two thirds of the council members.
The Council will reply by written documents within 15 working days after it receives the profiles./.

Visit Hanoi Opera House to enjoy Toyota Classics 2012
|
The 15th annual Toyota Classics 2012 held by Toyota Motors Asia – Pacific and Toyota Motors Vietnam, in cooperation with Vietnam Performing Arts Centre (Dept. of Performing Arts-Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), will take place at the Hanoi Opera House on November 4.
The Toyota Classics with a presentation of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, under Japanese conductor Joji Hattori and featuring Soichi Muraji, one of the most prominent guitarists in classical music. For the first time with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, violinist Le Hoai Nam will perform his accomplished musical style with romantic repertoires for the audience.
The event promises an evening of complete delight for the audience featuring a repertoire of extraordinary music. The conduction of the orchestra is on the hands of Joji Hattori, who brings all his virtuosity and experience as one of the leading Japanese musicians of his generation.
Besides this, the concert will bring to Vietnamese audiences all the marvelous notes of the guitar by the acclaimed Soichi Muraji.
So far, Toyota Classics concerts have become one of the most expected musical events of the year. It represents Toyota’s efforts not only to make contributions to cultural development of Vietnam but also to create an opportunity for local musical students and teachers to gain experience with performances of world-famous orchestras./.

Welcomes the first int’l paragliding tourney due in mid-November
|
An international paragliding tournament will be held in Lac Son district of the northern mountain province of Hoa Binh from November 16-18.
The event will see the participation of 30 paragliders representing clubs from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, for Vietnam, and those from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
Paragliding was introduced in Vietnam over a decade ago. Currently, the nation has about 200 paragliders.
The tournament is expected to provide a good opportunity for Vietnamese paragliders to practice and gain valuable experience at an international level.
The international paragliding tournament, the first of its kind, is being organised by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training in co-ordination with the Hanoi Paragliding Club and Hoa Binh’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism./.
