(CPV) – The Ministry of Finance has issued circular No 14/2012/TT-BTC adjusting export tax for coconut commodity under the group 0801 in the export tariff.
Under the circular, from September 1, 2012, export tax of coconut commodities will be reduced from 3 percent to 0 percent. Also in the group 0801, Brazil almond and fresh and dry cashew nuts will also enjoy zero percent.
The adjustment aims to assist coconut planters when their plantation area is being reduced along with the current dropped price of VN1000 per coconut unit.
Earlier, in the southern province of Ben Tre which has the largest coconut plantation area, each farming household was assisted with 1,5 million per hectare to buy fertiliser. As planned, the province will spend an additional 80 billion VND to assist coconut planters to overcome the current difficulties.
The Ben Tre agriculture sector estimates that the current provincial coconut plantation area is more than 53,000 hectares./.
