Ba Ria-Vung Tau hosts the first Int’l Seaport Festival
|
The first festival of international seaports in Vietnam will be held in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from November 10-12.
The organisers announced the event at a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh City on July 28. The festival will be jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial People’s Committee and the Long Mai Global Trade Corp.
The festival takes the theme of “Vietnam – Commercial Port of Peace and Development”, and aims to promote the role and position of the sea-based economy in the new period, helping consolidate the national economy, defence and security and raise public awareness of the country’s sea and island sovereignty.
The festival will include an exhibition on seaports and shipping and logistics companies, a friendship golf tournament and art performances to raise money for the “Beloved Truong Sa” fund.
An international seminar and forum on plans for the development of sea ports in Vietnam will be also held./.
