Nearly 100 young local and foreign artists are showcasing their works at the Chase Hanoi 2012 art exhibition from July 18-20.
Visitors to the event can enjoy the beauty of life through the artists’ different perspectives and their passion for arts. They can also learn about valuable life experiences and skills from those who have studied abroad.
Some popular films by female director Nguyen Hoang Diep, including Bo tu 10A8 (The Foursome of 10A8), Chit va Pi (Chit and Pi) and Bi, dung so (Bi, Don’t Be Afraid) are on screen at the exhibition.
As part of the event, some products are being sold to raise funds for the Operation Smile to conduct corrective facial surgeries for Vietnamese children with hare lip and cleft palate deformities.
Initiated by 18-year-old students Truong Ngoc Ha Linh from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Ton Nu Thuy Anh from Bard College, in the US, the first Chase Hanoi was held in 2011 drawing more than 1,000 artwork by 25 artists.
Most Chasers (members of Chase Hanoi) are studying at internationaly acclaimed schools and universities worldwide, such as University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, Bryn Mawr College and Mount Holyoke College.
