President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum
Hanoi Department of Planning and Architect and Hanoi Association of Planning and Urban Development held a scientific workshop to promote the value and preservation of architectural works in Hanoi dating from 1954 to 1986.
Researchers surveyed more than 150 works and recorded some 115 works with value, having survived without damaged. A thorough assessment was conducted by experts, architectures, management agencies, students at architectural departments, and local people.
The criteria under consideration was based on cultural historical value, architectural art value, scenery planning, origin, usage capacity and representative of groups of works.
Accordingly, 12 works have been recognized to have special value; 63 works are remarkable; and 40 works have average value.
12 special works include the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, President Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Children Palace, major drain and bridge in Thong NHat Park, Van Phuc Diplomatic Quarter, Villa complex by the West lake, Uncle Ho’s house on stilts and the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace./.
