(CPV) – The concert “Autumn Melodies 2012” will be held for 3 consecutive nights from 17-19 August at Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.
The annual Autumn Melodies concert program started in 2005 and has been more successful year on year.. The 8th program promises a swathe of young talents from home and overseas meeting together to enchant the audience with their works in a truly elegant setting.
At the press conference on August 6, musician Tran Vuong Thach, currently the director of Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony and Opera Theatre, tells of the theme for each night.
The first night is a “Symphony Concert”, the second, “Classic & Contemporary Dance Performances” and the last comes from the “Choir and the Orchestra”.
On August 17th there will be a musical performance of “Dido and Aneas” by the 17-century great English composer Henry Purcell, with the participation of artists from Norway, including Lars Notto Birkeland
On August 18th, the Ballet Carmen and contemporary music performance “Fragments of Dreams” by director and people’s artist, Kim Quy and choreographers Nguyen Phuc Hai and Nguyen Phuc Hung will also perform.
On the last night, August 19, there will be an orchestra concert performing famous film’s soundtracks and the participation of young musician Nguyen Manh Duy Linh, violinist Hoang Linh Chi and clarinetist Pau Rodriguez.
The “Autumn Melodies” aims to find and introduce young talent. On the other hand, the program also aims to encourage them to study and contribute more for the country’s musical development./.
