Giai dieu dam me (Melody of Passion) will kick off at 8 p.m. on August 30 at the French Cultural Center, L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street in Hanoi to raise funds for poor children in the northern mountainous province of Thai Nguyen.
The concert is organized by violinist Anh Tu, a lecturer of the Vietnam National Music Conservatory and his wife – opera singer Viet Dung. The show will be staged by many young artists and fans from the Anh Tu Violin fan club.
The gala will introduce works which are a mixture of classical music, pop and rock.
For the first time, Tu will cooperate with Ngoc Linh for ballad melodies while Dung will sing opera and rock for the first time.
This will also be the first time that Tu has performed classical music works, like Cannon in D, Beethoven virus, Concerto Four Season, Spanish Dance, with rockers Duc Long, Quang Minh, Truong Chinh, Hai Nam, Hai Bang and Manh Linh.
The couple hopes to hold monthly charity concerts to help disadvantaged people.
In July, they organized a first charity show Love Story which attracted nearly 300 people while 200 others were turned away due to the lack of seats.
Tu and Dung hope that Melody of Passion can see another full house.
