Vietnam’s top fashion designer Minh Hanh will bring 50 traditional ethnic dresses to the International Festival of Extraordinary Textiles (FITE) to be held in Clermont-Ferrand, central France, from September 12-16.
The pieces are hand-produced from fabrics woven by Mong ethnic people in the northern mountainous provinces of Ha Giang and Lao Cai.
Of them, four designs will be on display at the exhibition “Les métamorphoses” taking place at the Bargoin Museum from September 14, 2012 to May 31, 2013, with unique designs coming from five continents.
Designer Minh Hanh is expected to introduce her work at two fashion shows; the Bargoin on September 13 and Lecoq Lake on September 15.
Miss Vietnam 2010 Ngoc Han, Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2010 winner Huyen Trang, and two models from New Talent Company Pham Trang and Phuong Lien, will perform on the catwalk along with French models.
FITE is a platform for artisans and weavers across the globe to demonstrate their skills and their latest innovations./.
