The event was held by the World Heritage Centre in coordination with UNESCO Vietnam National Committee to discuss sustainable development with heritage programmes. At the seminar, the UNESCO Vietnam National Committee proposed setting up a network to follow, promote and preserve world cultural heritages in Southeast Asia in order to improve the awareness and responsibility of people toward heritage sites, to join hands to protect the environment and create conditions for sustainable economic and tourism development. The idea was supported by many representatives from nations in the region. Participants agreed that if such a protection network is established, not only one nation but all nations in the region can support the preservation of cultural heritages of other nations. This will help improve awareness and responsibility of each person and nation having cultural heritage./.
