Vietnam-Europe dance festival for Hanoi
|
Contemporary dance program ‘Europe meets Vietnam’ will be staged for the second time at Hanoi’s Youth Theatre on September 28-29.
The festival will introduce three dance plays from Belgium, Germany and Vietnam, giving audiences the opportunity to learn more about new trends in contemporary dance in Europe and Vietnam.
Vietnam’s representative at the event is the Vietnam Opera and Ballet Theater and the theater is also co-organizer with Goethe Institute in Hanoi and the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam.
Belgium’s Wallonie-Bruxelles mission brings Lamento by choreographer Michele Anne De Mey and performed by senior dancer Gabriella Iacono. The work features the lose of love and deceitful love. The music comes from Arianna, an opera by Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643).
Meanwhile, Germany will introduce the story of a woman who suffers from absent-mindedness and is always walking around in a dream-like state. This is a work by choreographer Helena Waldmann.
The shows will be held at the Youth Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham in Hanoi. Tickets are delivered freely from 10 a.m. on September 24 at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street in Hanoi, tel: 04 3734 2251.
There will be a film screening and an exchange with dancers and choreographers at 3 p.m. on September 30 at the Goethe Institute.
