(CPV) – The Vietnam Craft Village Exhibition 2012 will officially take place from September 25 to 30 in Nam Dinh, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
This year’s fair will include major showcase areas for craft village products, an exhibition and an gastronomy area. In addition, the event will offer cultural and art activities to serve viewers such as, puppetry, children’s toy kneading, silk weaving, bamboo knitting, pottery making and five-star lantern making.
This year’s fair will attract more than 300 kiosks from 37 provinces and cities nationwide. Under the framework of the fair, there will be a workshop entitled “Developing craft villages in combination with tourism” to honour craftsmen and artisans, introduce craft products and encourage the creativity of craftsmen and handicraft producers in an effort to contribute to developing traditional craft villages.
Under the framework of the fair, a competition for craft products will be organised with five product groups of pottery; woven bamboo; embroidery and brocaded silk; wood, lacquer and oyster inlay; and gold, silver, bronze and metal. Among 310 entries, the examiner will select 16 official prizes and 218 typical products for the final round./.
