People’s Artist Kim Cuong, the well-known veteran drama actress has released a picture book featuring photos taken from popular dramas like La Sau Rieng (Durian Leaf), Bong Hong Cai Ao (Rose on your Pocket) and Huyen Thoai Me (Mother’s Legend) on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival.
Proceeds from the book will be donated to the HCMC Sponsor Association for the Disabled and the Orphaned.
Additionally, the actress will organize a repeat of her performance called Ta on Doi (Thanks to Life) at Phan Dinh Phung Indoor Stadium on September 9. The show took place in August and received much applause.
The performance features two extracts from popular dramas Tra Hoa Nu (Camelia) and La Sau Rieng (Durian Leaf), made famous by the actress.
Drama artists Huu Chau, Thanh Loc, Minh Nhi, director Vu Minh, and singers Dam Vinh Hung, Cam Ly, Quang Dung will join the show for cai luong songs, music and dance performances.
The event aims to celebrate the occasion of receiving the People’s Artist title from the State and conveying thanks to friends who have been with her during her long 40-50 year career.
Kim Cuong will offer 700 tickets to disabled children, HIV-infected patients and disadvantaged people in the City.
Vu Lan Festival is also celebrated as Mother's Day in Vietnam on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, and is a time for people to express their filial love to their parents.
