The 2012 International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair opened in the central city of Da Nang on August 17, with almost 200 domestic and foreign businesses taking part.
The fair aims to foster trade and tourism promotion in EWEC countries, which include Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. The businesses are showcasing their products and services at more than 300 booths with displays including electronics and IT products, industrial and agricultural machinery and equipment, chemicals and fuels, agro-forestry and aquatic products, among others. According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, the fair provides businesses with an opportunity to seek new partners and expand markets in the fields of trade and tourism in the EWEC area. The event will run until August 21.
