Russia is among countries having the highest numbers of tourists to Vietnam in the first half of this year, according to Voice of Russia (VOR).
VOR reported that the country has jumped to 11th from 25th position over the past three years with more than 87,000 Russians visiting Vietnam in the first five months of 2012. In June alone, more than 2,500 Russian came to Nha Trang, VOR said.
It cited various reasons, such as tension in the Middle East and Fukushima nuclear plant breakdown which have discouraged Russians going to their favourable destinations in Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Japan.
That’s why Vietnam has now become an attractive destination for Russian tourists who prefer tours a reasonable price but in safety.
Kemerovo has recently opened a new air route to Cam Ranh Airport, VOR noted.
The Primorye region’s governor is scheduled to discuss with the Russian Minister of Transport the possibility of opening a direct air route between Vladivostock and Hanoi.
A Russian village has been built at Mui Ne resort for Russian tourists, VOR added./.
