VietNamNet Bridge – The Performing Arts Department sent a dispatch to the Vietnam Television (VTV) and the producer of The Voice vocal competition asking them to clarify the audience's doubts.
On the afternoon of September 13, chief of the Performing Arts Agency Vuong Duy Bien said that the agency had asked VTV and Cat Tien Sa, the producer of The Voice, to submit explanation reports.
In a dispatch to VTV and Cat Tien Sa, the agency requested their explanation about the organization of The Voice, and the doubts of pre-arrangement raised by the media. Bien asked VTV and Cat Tien Sa to submit the reports early and the agency would rely on the reports to decide how to deal with the case.
Nguyen Quang Minh, general director of Cat Tien Sa, told VNExpress on September 13 that he had not received the dispatch yet. But he said his company would be willing to cooperate if it is requested by the Performing Arts Agency.
The spokesman of VTV, Mr. Ha Nam, Head of the Editorial Secretariat, also confirmed that VTV had not received the dispatch. However, he also ensured that VTV would obey the request from the Performing Arts Agency.
The clip that accused The Voice’s pre-arrangement was released on the night of September 9 when Episode 3 was being aired on VTV3. The video was spread on the net at breakneck speed.
The clip pasted together a lot of "materials" for the purpose of “answering the questions that the press cannot answer yet about The Voice."
On September 11, the organizers of The Voice met with the press. At this meeting, music director of The Voice Phuong Uyen apologized and wanted to resign but in the end she still retained the position.
To defend Phuong Uyen, the representative of Cat Tien Sa, coaches and contestants made shocking statements, making correspondents who attended the press conference and the public discontented.
On the evening of September 12, the organizers apologized the reporters who participated in the press conference and pledged to learn experience from the incident.
On the same day, VTV released an announcement, admitting part of responsibility in the case but did not offer an apology.
