One month after this year’s travel stimulus program was kicked off, travel firms in northern Vietnam have cooperated with each other to offer four identical tours in their joint promotion.
Specifically, the four tours are the four-day Danang-Hoi An-My Son tour priced at VND5.5 million a customer and the five-day Saigon-Phnom Penh-Siem Riep tour at VND8.69 million, both for departure on Saturdays, and the four-day Saigon-Mui Ne-Dai Nam and Saigon-Vung Tau-Dai Nam tours worth VND6.99 million each for departure on Thursdays and Fridays.
These package tours are sold at the same price, depart on the same day and have same marketing activities at travel firms. Besides, the travel firms have chosen August 24 as a golden day, offering customers a discount of VND500,000 for buying any of these tours.
Last month, the Vietnam Society of Travel Agents (Vista) and VietJetAir signed a travel stimulus program for the northern market.
Under this program, VietJetAir will provide 80 low-cost tickets every day with 40 tickets per flight and a 49% discount. There are 16 travel firms in the north selected to join the program in the first phase.
According to Vu The Binh, chairman of Vista, the program also aims to create a long-term and sustainable cooperation between airlines and travel firms as well as between firms in the northern region.
A representative of a travel firm said that negotiations between a single firm and its partners did not bring about high efficiency, but it may be improved when travel firms form an alliance for a stronger voice. The program marks a change in the cooperation development of northern firms, he added.
Some travel firms selected to join the travel stimulus program are Hanoitourist, Fiditour, Saigontourist, Hanoi Redtours, Hanoi Toserco, Vinacomin, Vietrantour, Vinamicetour, and Vietnamtourist-Hanoi.
