On July 12th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to launch the contest on studying the history of Vietnam-Lao special relations among its staff.
The contest focused on key factors in establishing the bilateral ties of special friendship and close cooperation through different stages of history, the role of late President Ho Chi Minh and late President Cayson Phomvihan and other Party and State leaders in developing these special relations and finally the time-honoured tradition of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
The contest was launched to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The contest aimed to encourage the younger generation to uphold revolutionary traditions, foster the time-honoured friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, and combat “peaceful evolution” schemes as well as hostile forces’ distorted allegations undermining this special relationship.
On behalf of young generation of people’s public security, secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union under the Ministry of Public Security Pham Kim Dinh said that the union has plans to instruct unions in administrations, commands, units under the ministry, institutes and colleges to promote the contest among members.
