The Japanese Performing Arts Association (JAA) will host performances by 11 Japanese artists at HCMC Conservatory of Music at 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Saturday at HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Visitors will have a chance to enjoy classical music, folk singing, Koto zither musical instruments, Kougetsucho flute, Yosakoi Naruko Odori ethnic dance as well as Vietnamese folk songs.
Moreover, guests can join a workshop on Japanese musical instruments.
The shows will be staged by Koto artists Maki Isogai, Ai Kajigano, Yuko Fukuda, Shakuhachi flutist Rika Sakurai, Daggaki percussionist and singer Hitomi Nakamura. The programs are directed by Hideo Shimoda, Hideo Hamanaka, Shingo Shoji and Katsuo Suzuki.
JAA was established with a view to promote Japanese art overseas.
Admission is free. The conservatory is at 112 Nguyen Du Street in District 1 and the university is located at 12 Dinh Tien Hoang Street in District 1.
