German pianist Hinrich Alpers will delight the audience in a concert conducted by Christian Schumann with the HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) at 8 p.m. on September 9 at HCMC Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square.
The show will be started with the Academic Festival Overture of Brahms and will be followed by Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 2 of Dimitri Schostakowich, Requiem & Dies Irae from Requiem of Giuseppe Verdiano and Choral Fantasy for piano, choir and orchestra of Beethoven.
Schumann is considered one of Germany’s young shooting stars. He is appearing in Vietnam for the third time as guest conductor with the HBSO Symphony Orchestra HCMC.
Alpers’ rousing, expressive and yet subtle performances of classic works have impressed the public on the world’s most famous stages – including New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonic. He also captivates his listeners in premiere performances of works by famous contemporary composers.
Tickets are priced at VND300,000, VND250,000, VND150,000 per person and VND60,000 for students.
