(CPV) – The capital city of Hanoi held its place as the sixth most attractive destination among the top 10 in Asia, as voted by Hong Kong-based Smart Travel Asia Online Magazine for the second consecutive year.
On August 22, a representative from the online travel magazine granted the result certificate to the city’s department of culture, sport and tourism.
Together with Hanoi, the ancient town of Hoi An in the central coastal province of Quang Nam was honoured with the ranking of seventh place.
The leading position went to Bali in Indonesia, followed by Phuket in Thailand, and then Hong Kong.
The praise is expected to bring opportunities for local travel companies to promote the image and prestige of Hanoi among international tourists.
Annually, readers from Smart Travel Asia Online Magazine vote on the most attractive travel destinations in Asia, under the criteria of top holiday destinations, top spa hotels and resorts, top leisure hotels and resorts, top cities for business, top business hotels, top conference hotels, and top airlines.
Approximately 70 percent of the nominations were based in Asia (largely Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and the Middle East), 15 percent in UK and Europe and 15 percent in the US and North America./.
