The Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, Vietnam National Academy of Music, including 85 artists will participate in the “Asia Orchestra Week” in Tokyo, Japan from October 1-6.
They will perform at two programs, at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall on October 3rd and the Fukushima Concert Hall on October 5th. This is the second time the orchestra tours Japan, after the first tour in 1999.
The programme, featuring composer Do Hong Quan’s famous work Rhapsody Vietnam, will be conducted under the baton of C. Schumann (Germany).
In Fukushima, the orchestra will perform with Kyushu symphony orchestra (Japan) in a concert. Before going on tour in Japan, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Hanoi Opera House on September 27.
The concert will feature Rhapsody Vietnam. German conductor C. Schumann and artist Luu Hong Quang will also attend at the event.
“Asia Orchestra Week” is an annual event that began in 2002 to showcase the classical music cultures of Asian nations. Thirty-seven orchestras have participated from 15 different countries over the years./.
