Some 130 award winning works by 77 artists from nine ASEAN countries are on display at the Graphic Art Competition, opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on August 6th.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the competition alongside embassies of the ASEAN countries in Vietnam and the Vietnamese embassies in ASEAN nations, to honour the 45th anniversary of the regional grouping’s establishment.
The exhibition creates a forum for graphic artists from ASEAN member countries to exchange ideas and introduce their work to the ASEAN community.
The judges will select the 17 prizewinning works based on their aesthetic and cultural uniqueness. The pieces should focus on the daily life, people, and natural landscape, and also promote peace, solidarity, friendship and cooperation amongst ASEAN countries.
The exhibition will run until August 16./.
